  • What is the function of the windpipe?
To transport air (oxygen) to and (release carbon dioxide) from the lungs.
  • What are the parts of the circulatory system?
    Heart, blood and blood vessels
  • Describe how fish take in and give out air in the water. (Clue: Start from the mouth)
Water rich in dissolved oxygen enters through the mouth and passes through the gills. As water flows out from the gills, carbon dioxide is removed.
  • What are the parts of the repiratory system?
    Nose, windpipe and lungs
  • Explain how your breathing rate changes as you exercise.
Our breathing rate increases as we need more oxygen and remove carbon dioxide.
  • How do plants take in and give out air?
During photosynthesis, plant take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen in their stomata/tiny openings.
  • State 2 gases that is released when we breathe out.
    Carbon dioxide and water vapour
  • What is the function of the hairs in the nose?
To remove dust from the air we breathe in.
  • Study the chart below. What happens to our breathing rate as we age?
Our breathing rate decreases as we age.
  • What is the function of the lungs?
To take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide. Oxygen is exchanged for carbon dioxide in the blood.
  • What gas do we take in?
    Oxygen
