Make sure that the ATX power supply is switched on before installing or removing any component.

Choose a working area with carpet on the floor.

Unplug the wall socket power cord before touching any component.

Prepare all the tools you will need, secure a clear, well-lit workspace.

Use a grounded wrist strap or touch a safely grounded object or metal object, such as a power supply case, before handling components.

Place the motherboard on a grounded antistatic pad or in the bag that came with the component.

Wear appropriate attire like loose clothing and rubber sole shoes.
