  • What part of the tongue has the most taste buds?
    The front and the top
  • What are the parts that help us smell?
    The nose, the nostrils and the receptors, and the brain
  • How can taste protect us?
    It can tell us when something tastes bad or rotten
  • What are the 5 taste groups?
    Sweet, savoury, salty, bitter and sour
  • Give examples of food with carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins
    Example: Bread, steak, carrot
  • What do the different foods in the taste group give us? What do sweet, savoury, bitter and sour food give us?
    Sweet food gives us energy, savoury food give us protein, bitter and sour give us vitamins
  • How can smell protect us? Think of two ways connected to our experiments
    We can smell if something smells rotten/bad or we can smell danger from far away
