  • What is the difference between teasing and bullying?
    Teasing is if it's once in a while and is often saying something mean. Bullying is more intense and happens over and over again.

    Shrug your shoulders, roll your eyes, pretend to yawn, etc.

    To show you don't care. If you say more, it'll show you DO care.
  • Should you walk away without using a comeback when someone is teasing you? Why or why not?
    No, you should always use a comeback before walking away. The teaser might think you are running away.

    Values are ideas that are important to us. Behaviours are something you do on purpose and people can see you doing.

    E.g. Helping a friend on their homework goes towards the value of kindness.

    The other person is excited about the topic, you don't have ideas for a new topic, there is more to say about the topic, etc.

    Looking away, yawning, checking their watch or phone, short answers, etc.

    It is easier to think through a situation when it is broken down in steps.
  • What are 2 reasons for shifting the topic in a conversation?
    The other person is bored, you have nothing else to contribute to the topic, etc.
  • Is it common to be turned down?
    Yes. It happens all the time. Don't let it discourage you from joining others.
  • How can you tell if you have been rejected or turned down?
    Ignores you, back towards you, roll their eyes, says no, etc.
  • If someone is making up different rumours about you, is this bullying?
    Yes, this is a type of bullying.
  • Why should we remain calm if we were turned down, even if we feel upset?
    If you show the group or person you are upset, they will likely also turn you down the next time. You might get a bad reputation.

    Stay calm, walk away. Most times, you don't need to say anything to them after they bullied you.
  • What can you do or say if you cannot connect the old topic with the new topic when wanting to shift topics?
    Say "on another topic" or "to change the subject"  or "by the way" or something similar.

    Lay low, avoid the bully, stay near others.

    Away move from the value of friendship.

    SODAS - situation, options, disadvantages, advantages, solution.

    Whatever, so what?, and...?, that's so old, big deal, what's your point?, etc.
  • Is it okay to do away moves sometimes?
    Yes, no one is perfect. We can be aware of what are towards and away moves and make changes in our lives.
