What happens to the following during birth: uterus, cervix, amniotic sac or amnion
The strong muscles in the wall of the uterus contracts, amniotic sac bursts and the cervix dilates or becomes widely opened.
What happens to the position of the fetus few weeks before birth?
The fetus usually turns over in uterus, so that it is lying head downwards.
What happens to the placenta and umbilical cord after birth?
The placenta falls away from the wall of the uterus, and passes out through the vagina. The umbilical cord is cut.
