Hippocrates
This war was a continuation of an earlier war between Sparta and the Delian League, led by Athens. It ended with the surrender of Athens and the end of the Golden Age of Greece.

Herodotus
This Greek Goddess was the God of Wisdom and war strategy. She is the patron of a famous Greek city that shares her name.
Athena
This was the mythological Greek god of thunder, wife of Hera and the King of the Gods.
Zeus
This man is the most important Greek literary figure and is known for his poem the Odyssey which tells the stories of Greek soldiers returning home from the Trojan War.
Homer
This famous Athenian was a politician and general who led Athens against the Spartans, developed Athenian democracy, and started building projects like the Parthenon. There is an period of time, or "Age", named after him.
Pericles
This was one of the most powerful empires of the ancient world. It fought several wars against Greece, which it lost.
Persia
This Greek city in Anatolia was the center of Homer's epic poem the Iliad, where Greek soldiers used a horse to break into and destroy the city.
Troy
This powerful Greek city was known for its famous acropolis, as the leader of the Delian League and as the birthplace of democracy.
Athens
This powerful Greek city was known for its elite warrior society, its series of wars against Athens & its last stand against the Persians at Thermopylae.
