Fragments are incomplete sentences.
What are Run-on sentences?
A run-on sentence results from two or more complete sentences being connected without any punctuation.
Is this sentence correct? Why or why not? "He drove off in the Mercedes. Erica watched him go."
It's correct! This sentence could also be separeted by semicolon, a coordinating cunjuction and a comma, or the period.
Is this sentence correct? Why or why not? "The airport is about to shut down because of the snow and if the plane doesn't land soon it will have to go on to Boston."
There are two independent clauses connected with a conjunction. But they need to be separated by a comma.
