How do the brain, spinal cord, sensory organs, and peripheral nerves work together to react to sensory information?
Sensory organs gather information from the environment. The info travels through the peripheral nerves to the spina cord, and the to the brain.
What is the peripheral nervous system?
The nerves on the limbs and outer edge of the body.
What is the brain?
part of the nervous system that is not part of the central nervous system and receives sensory information from cells in the body.
What does instinct mean?
an inherited behavior, one that is not learned but is done automatically.
What is the central nervous system?
part of the nervous system made up of the brain and spinal cord.
What do sensory organs do?
organ in the nervous system that sends and receives messages from the other body organs.
What does the spinal cord do?
Connects brain to the nerves to control muscles so the body can move.
How come it takes it a moment to react to when you try to catch something?
My brain takes a moment to process the information then tells my body to catch it.
Why might an animal that has been living in captivity not be able to to find food in the wild?
They can forget how to hunt or find food on their own.
What are the sense organs?
Eyes, ears, tongue, nose, and skin.
