Refers to individuals who are attracted to people of all genders and are often categorized as being “gender blind”
Pansexual
A person who does not experience sexual attraction towards individuals of any gender
Asexual
A person who is physically and emotionally attracted to people of two or more genders
Bisexual
Refers to people whose sexual and romantic feelings are primarily for the same gender
Gay/Lesbian
A person’s romantic, emotional, physical or sexual attraction to another person
Sexual Orientation
An adjective that describes a person whose gender identity aligns with the sex they were assigned at birth
Cisgender
Refers to people whose sexual and romantic feelings are primarily for the opposite gender
Heterosexual
A person who needs to feel an emotional tie to another person in order to be attracted to them
Demisexual
Someone whose gender identity and/or expression varies over time
Gender Fluid
This describes a variety of conditions in which a person is born with reproductive or sexual anatomy, chromosomes or hormones that don’t fit the typical definition of male and female
Intersex
An adjective that can describe a person who does not identify as any gender
Agender
The way a person presents (shows) and communicates their gender identity through actions, dress, behaviors and speech
Gender Expression
A term that can be used by people who do not describe themselves or their genders as fitting into the categories of man or woman
Nonbinary
A person whose gender identity is different from the gender they were assigned at birth
Transgender
Having both masculine and feminine qualities
Androgynous
Describes a person’s biological combination of hormones, organs, genitals and chromosomes
Biological Sex
Refers to individuals who are attracted to a person of any gender, but they are not gender blind and thus are aware of the person’s gender
Omnisexual
How a person in their mind thinks about themselves. This is based on a society’s expectation about how people look, think, and act as someone of a specific gender
Gender Identity
A person whose gender identity is neither man nor woman but between or beyond traditional genders
Gender Queer
Conveys a wider, more flexible range of gender identity and/or expression than typically associated with the binary gender system
Gender Expansive
