Hybrid language
an interlanguage like Spanglish that blends elements of English and Spanish
Pidgin
simplified version of a language that incorporates lexis from other local languages
Creole
a mother tongue or L1 derived from contact between a local language and a European one
Patois
a nonstandard version of a language, usually seen as inferior or low status and can be a dialect, pidgin or creole
Linguistic Accommodation
adjusting your language to your interlocutor
Divergence
deliberately adjusting your language to create a distance between you and your interlocutor
Dysprosody
a speech disorder that causes you to start speaking in a foreign language or accent
Convergence

alternating between two or more languages in a given conversation
