At dawn a terrible roar woke Mowgli. He looked down from the tree and saw an od elephant marching along with his trunk held high in the air
Dawn- the period in the day when light from the sun begins to appear in the sky. Trunk- the long, tube-shaped nose of an elephant.
Mowgli and Baloo didn`t know that there were hundreds of pairs of eyes watching from the trees. They didn`t see the monkeys waiting to kidnap Mowgli.
Kidnap- to take a person away by force, usually in order to demand money in exchange for releasing them

Afford - to be able to buy or do something because you have enough money or time.
1. My mother always gets a bit anxious if we don`t arrive when we say we will. 2. I saw my sister`s anxious face at the window.
Anxious- worried and nervous
1. She hummed to herself as she walked to school. 2. The computers were humming in the background.
Hum- to sing without opening your mouth; to make a continuous low sound.
1. To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we gave a big party. 2. Tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of the revolution.
Anniversary- a day when we remember or celebrate something important that happened on that day in a previous years
