  • V20-21 The chief priests and our rulers handed him (Jesus) over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel...Why were the disciples sad?
    They thought there was a great flood coming
    They thought they would be arrested
    They thought Jesus was killed & didn't know he resurrected
    They thought they wouldn't receive healing

  • Lu24:31Then their eyes were opened/recognized him (Jesus)..(The 2 disciples) asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?" What did the Disciples mean by this?
    They thought Jesus shut their eyes
    After hearing the scripture/now knew it was Jesus
    They wondered why Jesus didn't say who he was
    When they looked at him they recognized Jesus
