V17 He (Jesus) asked them (the two disciples), "What are you discussing together as you walk along?" They (the disciples) stood still, their faces downcast. How did the disciples feel?

V20-21 The chief priests and our rulers handed him (Jesus) over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel...Why were the disciples sad?
They thought there was a great flood coming

They thought Jesus was killed & didn't know he resurrected
They thought they wouldn't receive healing
V25 He said to them, "How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter glory?" What was Jesus trying to tell the Disciples?
That they should pray more

Lu24:31Then their eyes were opened/recognized him (Jesus)..(The 2 disciples) asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?" What did the Disciples mean by this?
They thought Jesus shut their eyes
After hearing the scripture/now knew it was Jesus
They wondered why Jesus didn't say who he was
When they looked at him they recognized Jesus
