What does observation mean?
Observation: An observation is information collected using one of the senses (sight, sound, touch, taste, scent).
What does Correlation mean?
A correlation is a relationship between two variables that can be used to predict the behavior or value of one variable if the other is known.
What does analysis mean?
The detailed examination of the elements or structure of something.
What does results mean?
The explanation or interpretation of experimental data.
What does Population mean?
The entire group the researcher is studying.
What does Null Results mean?
Null Results (Nonsignificant Results): Results that do not disprove the null hypothesis. Null results don't prove the null hypothesis
What does Mean mean?
The average calculated by adding all the scores and then dividing by the number of scores.
What does Independent Variable mean?
The variable that is manipulated or changed by the researcher.
What does Hypothesis mean?
A prediction of whether the independent variable will have an effect on the dependent variable or a prediction of the nature of the effect.
What does Dependent Variable mean?
The variable that responds to the independent variable. The dependent variable is the one being measured in the experiment. Also known as the dependent measure
What does data mean?
Facts, numbers, or values obtained in an experiment.
What does Control Variable mean?
Any variable that does not change during an experiment. Also known as a constant variable.
What does conclsuion mean?
Determination of whether the hypothesis should be accepted or rejected.
