  • It is derived from organic material that comes from plants and animals. When it is burned the chemical energy is released as heat and can generate electricity with a steam turbine. It can also be transformed into biofuel.

  • The water on the surface of the ocean gets heated by the sun, becoming heavier than the cold water below, and goes down while the cold water below goes up, gets heated and restarts the process it. It uses turbines to create electricity.
