What is the same and what is different about these two models?
The models both show 2/3 but the shapes are different sizes.
Oliver says this model shows 1. Kieran says this model shows 2/2. Why are they BOTH correct?
2/2 means you shaded in all the pieces and all the pieces together equal 1.
Derek drew these models to compare 1/3 and 7/12. What did Derek do wrong?
He did not draw the shapes the same size before partitioning and shading.
Riley says the number line shows 6/1. Chloe says it shows 6/6. Who is correct? WHY?
Chloe is correct because 6/1 would equal 6 and the number line is showing 6 equal parts LESS than 1.
